My big photo challenge for 2019 is to shoot photos of people. Couple that with a self-made requirement that each image has to have a story, and I know that I have my work cut out for me. When I travel I like to be prepared for any kind of photo opportunity. This translates into bringing a pile of camera gear that would make a Nepalese sherpa’s knees buckle. On a recent trip to Italy, however, I brought the bare minimum gear: my small Fuji XE-1 mirrorless camera, one 18-55mm zoom lens, one battery, one battery charger, and a Lensmate thumbrest.
